Kindergarten through Grade 5

LOWER SCHOOL

In Lower School at Children’s Academy, students build the foundation that everything else rests on: confident communication, a love of reading, joy in learning, and friendships that last.

We believe in the potential of every Children’s Academy student – and our integrated academic-therapeutic program keeps students challenged and progressing.

  • Integrated staffing model ensures every classroom is staffed by a licensed teacher, a teaching assistant, and a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist, so therapy and academics happen together, all day.
  • Skill-based grouping with a 6:2:1 ratio for academic subjects means every child is met where they are and given the time, support, and encouragement to grow into a curious, confident learner.
  • Science of reading curriculum grounds reading instruction through iReady and Magnetic Reading, math through HMH Into Math, and occupational therapy woven into every student’s day.

Grade 6 through 8

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Middle School is a time of transformation. Our program supports students as they grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally, building on the integrated model from Lower School.

  • Social Thinking gives students a shared vocabulary for navigating social situations and communicating with confidence.
  • Critical thinking and academic rigor are built into every subject through evidence-based instruction and skill-based grouping.
  • Self-advocacy helps students understand their learning profiles and arrive at high school ready.

Grade 9 through 12

UPPER SCHOOL

Upper School is where years of work come into focus. Students earn high school credits that can be transferred to other schools, building a strong academic foundation as they prepare for life beyond graduation.

  • Independence and self-direction are at the center of Upper School life, with students taking increasing ownership of their learning and goals.
  • Transition planning prepares every student for life after graduation, whether college, vocational training, or supported independence.
  • Transferable high school credits give students a recognized academic pathway, with rigorous coursework designed to transfer smoothly to their next school.
